PW newsletter makes calls to action for Earth, for peace

The PeaceWorks KC newsletter for June gives several calls to action: Come to our Hiroshima/Nagasaki Remembrance Aug. 7. Attend the jury trial of a nuclear weapon resister Sept. 6. Volunteer at our PeaceWorks KC Local Art Fair (yes, it’s back!) Sept. 24-25. And join us Oct. 1 for our next protest at Whiteman AFB, which operates the MQ-9 Reaper drone—officers engage in combat operations without leaving the air force base.

The newsletter notes book clubs present and to come, for readers of Braiding Sweetgrass by an Indigenous author and The Art of Living by spiritual leader Thích Nhất Hạnh. We ask people to attend the celebration of life on July 14 of Dee Berry, who died recently, and to assist in promoting ranked choice voting. And with pictures and stories, the newsletter reviews our Memorial Day action, Prohibit Nukes, Promote HOPE.
