We need a cease–fire everywhere for our madness
For destruction, for nuclear weapons, for inequality
Only then, we stand on a thresh-hold of a new dawn.
(from the poem “Chaos”,
written with a reference to Rev. William Barber II, Poor People’s Campaign)
I am a nuclear-weapon-free zone
As well as my office, my home,
Wherever I travel in this nation
I declare it with my pocketbook
And the moral fiber of my being
Never rationalizing total annihilation
I will stand for peace and justice and
Ecology in preserving only this planet
And I will do so by striving to be open
To the spirit in becoming authentic and
Embracing love as a principle of life,
This is why I am a nuke-free ZIP code.
2023-01-20: On occasion at Cherith Brook KC
in declaring my freedom from nuclear weapons
with certain core values on our only Earth Planet A, not B,
during an event asking,
“What do you think a nuclear-weapon-free world could look like?”
