Peaceworks KC is excited to announce we are now accepting artist applications for the UNPlaza Art Fair! The UNplaza Art Fair is our primary fundraiser of the year and an opportunity to feature local artists. For the first time we also have an online application to make it easier than ever to apply. You can apply either ONLINE or with a PAPER APPLICATION. Note: you must have a Google account to apply online. PayPal an be used to apply either online or on the paper application. Application deadline is August 15, 2019. See details below:
DATE: September 21 – 10 AM to 6 PM. & September 22 – 10 AM to 5 PM.
(set up is from 4-6 PM on Friday September 21 and 8-10 AM on Saturday September 22.)
LOCATION: Southmoreland Park, KCMO (same location as 2018 – West of Oak Street and the Nelson-Atkins Museum and north of Emanuel Cleaver Boulevard/47th Street)

Saturday, August 17, 4:00-5:30 – Artists as Brand- by Vania Soto
Do struggle between how you market yourself as an artist and your work? Participants will learn about the importance of branding and marketing of oneself as an artist, above and beyond promotion of “the art.”
Vania Soto – Kansas City Fine Artist Vania has been a selling artist for 13 years, but has been an artist all her life. Inspired by artists such as the great Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and other Mexican cultural icons she incorporates traditions such as Día de Los Muertos into her works.
Tuesday, August 27, 6:00-7:30 PM – Get a Second Look: How to capture the right customer
What is it that you don’t know (or, afraid to ask) about vending? Participants will learn how to create an inviting atmosphere for customers as well as tips and best practices for fair contract review and preparation.
